1. Multiple Message Problem

2. SPECIAL OFFER: FREE CLIMATE CHANGE ARTICLES AND MAP

The most important international climate conference since the 1997 Kyoto summit
is taking place now in the Hague, Netherlands. From November 13-24 at the Sixth Conference of the Parties (COP6) to the U.N. climate change treaty, governments are scheduled to wrap up two long years of negotiations on a range of issues surrounding the Kyoto Protocol. Yet, as evidence of dramatic ice melting at the Earth's poles and other signs of warming heighten the urgency of addressing the climate problem, many unresolved differences remain. To mark COP6, the Worldwatch Institute is offering free online access to its
feature articles on climate change, which appeared in the Worldwatch magazine's
November/December 2000 issue. Go to http://www.worldwatch.org

"The Hydrogen Experiment" examines Iceland's grand experiment that may end the
country's-and the world's-reliance on fossil fuels forever.

"The Oceans Are Coming Ashore" focuses on how in this century increases in sea
levels of just one meter could displace up to one billion people and cause
countless ecological tragedies around the world. This article addresses global
aspects of the climate change problem and why governments have been slow to act
on this disaster waiting to happen.

Also available at the web site is the Worldwatch "Ice-melt Map of the World,"
which graphically illustrates the devastating effects that global warming is
having around the world. The map indicates thinning sea ices, shrinking
glaciers and cities that are highly vulnerable to sea level rise.

"The Hydrogen Experiment," "The Oceans Are Coming Ashore," and the "Ice-melt
Map of the World" are available for free download until the end of COP6,
November 24 from the Worldwatch website: http://www.worldwatch.org
